Resources | Introducing God book - Dominic Steele

Give this book to someone upon “first contact” and trust that the gospel is presented gently, but firmly even in the first chapter. This great ‘giveaway” book connects with 21st century Australians by presenting the Bible’s big story.

Based on the popular and effective course by Dominic Steele, use this book as a basis for follow-up discussion and relationship building. Each chapter connects relationally with stories of people who have come into a relationship with God. The style of writing and the personal stories is specifically aimed to engage with 21st century people. And giving someone a book is very non-confronting.

Connect09 is about equipping and empowering every Christian to make genuine connections. With this in mind, we ran regional conferences back in July to encourage and motivate lay folk to share ideas, encourage & pray for one another. Those who attended were greatly heartened and the conferences acted as a catalyst to fully embrace Connect09.
Due to popular demand, we are running them again.

Vince Williamson, the Connect09 Lay Ambassador Co-ordinator, says he has been greatly encouraged by the number of lay folk who, once they have understood Connect09, are fully embracing and supporting this initiative. At a local meeting recently, one person stood up and said ‘I have been praying for years for a revival in Sydney and I truly sense that Connect09 is the beginning!’

With 70 000 Christians actively praying and connecting, then we should be expecting God to do great things in our city. It would be hard to argue against.

This will be the perfect opportunity to be both enthused and informed ahead of the run down to Christmas and the New Year, and the run up to 2009. We promise motivation as well as up-to-the-moment information.

Key presenters:
Vince Williamson - Co-ordinator, Connect09 Lay Ambassador Program and Russell Powell – Senior Media Advisor.

The Big Day In telecast / web cast will go out live at 10am Sunday February 8th 2009. It will run for 50 minutes and feature live music, videos, interviews and an address by Archbishop Peter Jensen.

Churches have several ways to integrate the program with the flow of Sunday services, either substituting the BIG DAY IN for a normal service or re-arranging existing services around the 10am time slot.

Some churches are moving all services to a larger premises to view the program with all congregation members present. It will be helpful to organisers if you could indicate which option you are considering. More information will follow in coming weeks.

A logo and positioning statement is often an organization’s single most visible identifier, stimulating interest and creating awareness. A great logo is the visual expression of what an organization believes, reduced to its simplest form. It is the essence of what the organization stands for.

The way we present ourselves visually in corporate communications, letterheads, business cards, signage and marketing and advertising, contributes to building a unique
identity for Connect09.

By understanding the elements of the Connect09 brand identity contained in these guidelines and applying them consistently, we will all be contributing to building a stronger recognition and recall of Connect09.

While our people, our actions and our results will shape perceptions and give personality to Connect 09, our unity of purpose will be visually enhanced, by careful maintenance and consistent use of the corporate guideline.

We all share in the responsibility for implementing these standards. Consistency in following the guidelines is important in building a unified corporate approach to Connect09.

Below is everything you need to use the Connect09 branding in a way consistent with the rest of this evangelistic initiative.
